Having said that, if the shoe were on the other foot, do you think CCP would be as forgiving as the playerbase?
For example, we all know that we are scheduled to pay once per month to be able to log in and play EvE. This day is something that can be planned for, predicted, and calculated by. So what would happen if you were an hour late on that payment? Two hours? But you sent an email updating CCP that the payment would be an hour late. Then two hours?
I'm sure they would still let you log in. Really.
Dude this is by far the best post in entire thread, wish i had thought to right this Nail + Head!!
couldnt agree more with that.
Well maybe CCP will learn the leason when all player send a message like suggested "Sorry due to unpredicted DB-Issues I will send the scheduled payment 1 hour later."

Originally by: M4ST It is too easy to blame CCP for everything. Try to switch on your brains and think again. If you ever did a project covering more than one significant issue you should know that each issue normally has its own team and issues are closed independently of each other (unless the relate to each other from the beginning). So, for example, they wanted to introduce night lights on planets and assigned someone to it. His/her/their task was completed in time for this patch. Other teams are working on other issues - including those bugs that were reported to CCP.
CCP surely has its own vision of Eve's future. It may or may not coincide with what you anticipate. In any case you have to follow what they think is better for Eve or leave it. I am even sure they take constructive feedback into account if they can find it among other junk, so I guess if you want to influence the future of Eve - get a job with CCP.
Well its obvious that you never worked in the IT-Business specially in the service for paying customers.
When you shutdown the IT of an customer and come with an sorry there is something happend we cant expect and we held the IT down for another several hours, I am pretty shure this customer will tell you with a smile in his face that such things happen and you cant predict this and he will happily wait
hm, wait I am more shure this customer will tell you that every hour of server-down costs him monery and he will reimpurse you for this downtime

16:00 GMT?
Now its getting ridiculous.
To implement (beside other things) a bonus for a extented downtime they extend a downtime hour after hour ... thats just ridiculous
I suggest we all should file petitions in which we inform CCP that we delay our account-payments ... I am pretty shure we all can login after the payed time has expiret

I suggest the name of this game should be changed
from EVE Online
to EVE Offline
because the original name suggest that CCP can held this game up and running and they know what they are doing but considering the usual server-reboots, downtimes and especially delays BY EVERY PATCH/ADD-ON ... this suggestion is slightly wrong
